Mary Gibson was born and brought up in Bermondsey, the background for her fiction. She worked in publishing for thirty years, including over a decade as production manager at Chatto. Mary lives in Kent.

Published by Head of Zeus, her first novel, CUSTARD TARTS AND BROKEN HEARTS, set amongst the factory girls of South East London, was a Kindle Top 10 Bestseller and held the #1 spot in Sagas for over two months. It has earned over eight hundred five-star reviews and was selected as one of the World Book Night giveaways. Her second novel, JAM AND ROSES, was a top 20 Nielsen Hardback bestseller.

GUNNER GIRLS AND FIGHTER BOYS, published in paperback in May 2016, was a Kindle Top 40 bestseller. Her latest novel, HATTIE’S HOME, was published at the end of 2017 in eBook and hardback, with the paperback in May 2018.

Head of Zeus have now sold over 350,000 copies of Mary’s novels.
